The building of the Murilo Mendes Art Museum, designed by the architect DécioBracher, with a wide glass front and modern lines that make it a 1960s architectural reference, housed UFJF’s Rectorate until 2005. Located in the city’s center in an area of approximately 2,200m², it uses a free plan principle, valuing the structural elements of the building, with open spaces distinguished from one another by natural lights that harmonizes the internal and external areas of the museum, surrounded by a large garden and distinct architectural elements of its foundation period (1966).
